"Ensuring the psychometric integrity, clinical validity, and fairness of the CRS-BC™ credentialing standard."
The Technical Advisory Group (TAG) was established by the ABCR™ to support assessment, psychometric, and certification efforts. The group provides independent, expert guidance to the Certification Council and Board Staff on best practices related to the validity, reliability, accuracy, and fairness of clinical reasoning assessments.
The TAG oversees the statistical modeling of the TITO (Time-In to Time-Out) metric, ensuring that speed-based assessments are balanced with clinical accuracy to prevent "speed-bias" in scoring.
Through ongoing Job Task Analysis (JTA), the TAG verifies that the IIAR™ framework remains aligned with the evolving complexities of modern acute care environments.
TAG members conduct regular "Differential Item Functioning" audits to ensure that the assessment methodology remains fair across all nursing specialties and demographic groups.
The group directs the Board's research pipeline, tracking the long-term impact of CRS-BC™ certification on patient safety, nurse retention, and hospital ROI.
Members are appointed by the Board of Directors for 3-year terms. The TAG is composed of psychometricians, clinical researchers, and data scientists.
Members must hold a PhD or equivalent in Nursing Science, Psychometrics, or Healthcare Analytics with a proven record of peer-reviewed publication.
In accordance with Standard 3, TAG members must be independent of any educational or training vendors to maintain objective scientific oversight.
